Autopro Collision visited the sites of the large insurance companies in Arizona (Allstate, American Family, Farmers, Geico, Liberty Mutual / Safeco, Progressive, State Farm and USAA, National Association of Insurance Commissioners). We then combined their collision checklists.

Have your vehicle towed to YOUR body shop. This is very important! Read below.
If your car is not drivable:
It must be towed somewhere. Where it is towed is always your decision. The stress of the accident or collision may make this seem like a meaningless detail. Ultimately having your car repaired properly will be the most important decision you make. Arizona together with most states, allows you to choose where your car is repaired. It is extremely important your thoroughly check out the shop who fixes your car.
Of course insurance companies might be willing to suggest or even strongly imply you need to pick from their list. The law is very clear on this point. It is up to you, period. You need to pick out a repair shop with solid credentials and terrific reviews. Additionally, things like AAA Approved Body Shop, Angie’s List Super Service Award winner, great and current reviews on Yelp and Google + and BBB A+ rating are important.
Furthermore, working with a repair shop suggested by the insurance company means you are working with a body shop who is trying to serve two masters equally: the insurance company and you. Additionally, doing your own research and picking a high-quality shop, not on the insurance company list means they are only working for you.
Finally, don’t be swayed by the insurance company saying they will give you a lifetime warranty. When you have a warranty issue, they will tell you to take it back to the shop that did the repair and the shop should honor the warranty. A little research on your part will turn up thousands of examples online where this did not end well. In addition, all high-quality body shops offer a lifetime warranty. We do at Autopro Collision. Of course, when you pick your body shop they will take care of you. Additionally, when you check out Autopro Collision you will want us to be your body shop. Not to mention, we have a night drop and locked key box right out front.
